Denture Reline

Are you noticing that you have a complete or partial denture that doesn’t fit as good as it used to? Most likely, it just needs to be relined. Denture relines are an essential part of long term denture maintenance.
Some people may think they need to buy a new denture or partial when perhaps all they really need is to have their denture relined, saving them hundreds of dollars if not more.

If your denture or partial denture has become uncomfortable to wear or doesn’t stay in correctly, call 508-980-5517 to schedule an appointment with us. We can fix your denture within 1-2 hours and for an affordable price.

At Affordable Denture Repair we perform hard and soft denture relines specifically. We start by taking your prosthetic and grinding the inside of it. Grinding cleans the denture and prepares its surface to bond more efficiently with the relining material used. The relining material is made from a mixture of acrylic powder & acrylic liquid which creates a paste material. The acrylic paste is then added to the inside of the prosthetic which is then put back into the mouth of the customer in order to form the perfect fit to their gums. The relining paste will then gradually harden with the impression of their gums in them. Wearing your newly aligned prosthetic actually helps the relining material to eventually become a hard acrylic like the rest of your denture

What Causes The Need For A Denture Reline?

There are multiple reason why your denture or partial doesn’t fit anymore. The most common reason a dental prosthetic doesn’t fit anymore is because of bone resorption. When a person is missing teeth they tend not to put pressure on their jaw bone and through lack of use the jaw bone begins to deteriorate over time. Inevitably, the gums around the jawbone to shrink as well thus causing your denture or partial to become loose fitting. A loose fitting denture means that the inside of your dental prosthetic does not perfectly conform to the outline of your gums anymore.
When a denture or partial denture stops fitting correctly, people tend to turn to using denture adhesive. This is essentially glue that keeps your denture stuck in place to your gums. However, this is only a temporary solution and if you are taking proper care of your denture, you must apply denture adhesive everyday. Denture adhesive can become messy and can create more issues than solutions. Simply having our in-house lab technician perform a reline can eliminate the burden of using denture adhesive everyday.

When a denture and partial doesn’t fit snug around your gums this simply means there are gaps between your gums and your denture appliance. Neglecting to have your dental prosthetic relined means those gaps are able to have food particles get trapped inside of them. This ultimately presents a concern towards oral cleanliness. The food trapped between the gaps in your denture can not only cause plaque buildup to occur but trapped food can even begin to rot unknowingly inside of your mouth. This can cause bad breath and other, more serious oral health concerns.

Denture relines are a longterm solution to dentures and partial dentures that no longer fit perfectly. If this is the case in your situation, you don’t need to pay an arm and a leg to get a completely new denture. Relining is a quick and simple process that could save you hundreds of dollars while making your denture or partial fit like a glove. Your denture piece will feel like it’s brand new!
